DUMONT central monitoring station is staffed 24 hours-a-day, year round. Our employees are well trained, in their job, and have many years of experience in dealing with alarms, and people. Our station is equipped with the very latest state of the art receivers, and computers, all of which, including our telephone network are backed up with UNINTERUPTABLE-POWER-SUPPLIES ( UPS ) which in turn are backed up with an electric generator, in the event of an extended power outage.

Our on line computers log every event into the history file, nature of the event, date, time, and if appllicable, action taken by our operator. This detail is maintained in the history file for a minimum of " 6 " months. Quite frequently we are called upon, to furnish confirmation, to the authorities, the owner, and or their insurance Co. This information can be recalled from the history file in a matter of seconds, and a hard copy printed.

Monitoring Options

Digital Dialer:

This is by far the most common method of monitoring in the marketplace to day. The digital dialer is an integral part of all the panels we have installed for several years now. The DIGITAL DIALER reports events to the monitoring station over your regular phone line. Your alarm panel is connected to your phone line through an 8 pin CA38A jack. This configuration will allow the alarm panel to seize the phone line when activated, dial out to the monitoring station and down load the information. From line seizure to re-establishing your line takes between 3 to 7 seconds or up to 35 seconds depending on the specific dialer. ADVANTAGES; There is a cost savings in that your panel ( depending on the age already has the dialer built in and there are no Bell Telephone additional charges, since it utilizes your regular phone line, DISADVANTAGES; This line is NOT SUPERVISED. Should the line be severed (loss of phone line) the alarm panel DIGITAL DIALER cannot communicate with the monitoring station.

Dedicated Line:

This line IS SUPERVISED in that it is a dedicated Bell Telephone circuit between your premises and the monitoring station. Loss of this line for what ever reason, wonld alert the monitoring station to an OFF LINE CONDITION. ADVANTAGES; This line is polled on a regular basis by the monitoring station receiver for loss of continuity. Loss of continuity would alert the monitoring station of an OFF LINE CONDITION. The operator would then take appropriate action. DISADVANTAGES; An OFF LINE CONDITION only tells us that the circuit between your premises and the monitoring station has opened. We have no way of knowing where the open has occurred, be it at your premises or some where in between. No more signals can be transmitted to the monitoring station over that line until continuity has been re-established.

AlarmNet

This method of monitoring utilizes the Cellular network to transmit signals to the monitoring station. It is primarily a back-up to your DIGITAL DIALER. ADVANTAGES; The cellular signal is supervised, in that it is polled on a regular bases. through the ALARM NET control centre. The ALARM NET cellular transceiver is self contained, has its own power supply and back-up battery. It interconnects to your alarm panel ( virtually any alarm panel) has 6 zone inputs. This unit constantly monitors your system. Should the line go dead for what ever reason this unit will report PHONE LINE TROUBLE to our monitoring station over the cellular network, as well the signals into our station comes in ( R-F- ) wireless. As long as your phone line is down the ALARM NET transceiver will monitor your alarm panel for other signals, IE; fire, intrusion panic etc. As well the ALARM NET transceiver can be used for monitoring alarms. in remote areas were there are no telephone lines available. *DISADVANTAGES; The ALARM NET transceivers, are only able to comnmnicate with monitoring stations equipped with ILF. receivers.
