CARD ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS; We sell, service, install, and monitor virtually all makes and models of Card Access systems available on the market to-day.

CARD ACCESS CONTROL has many uses in to-days market place, to name a few.

  • Time and Attendance ( for payroll ).
  • Production task accounting.( for costing ).
  • Restricting control of machinery and equipment to authorized individuals.
  • Temporary Access, in the case of a rental facility, the Access card can be programmed to operate within a given time frame..

PRIORITY CARD ACCESS CONTROL the system can be configured to control specific, restricted areas within your facility ( computer main frame room, chemical storage room, executive offices, stock room, etc., etc. ). Every event is date and time stamped with users I. D., and logged in the history file.

CARDS AND CARD READERS there are basically four types available on the market to-day.

  1. BAR CODE is very common in non-security application but it seldom is the technology of choice for security and access control. Average life span 18 to 30 months.
  2. MAGNETIC STRIPE still the most widely used technology worldwide for access control applications. Most people are familiar with the technology because of its wide spread use by bank and credit card operations. This technology provides a medium level of security, because it is possible, with the right equipment and proper knowledge, to duplicate cards. Average life span 18 to 30 months.
  3. WIEGAND originally created to provide a permanently encoded card when magnetic stripe cards were so sensitive to magnetic fields. These cards were probably the most common technology in high security applications before the advent of proximity technology. Wiegand cards have virtually an infinite life span.
  4. PROXIMITY is the fastest growing technology for card access control applications. When the card, or key tag is held in close proximity to the reader ( provided it has been pre programmed into the system ) the panel will acknowledge and react in microseconds. Proximity to the reader, ranges from fractions of an inch up to 28". There are systems in the market to-day that will extend the range to hundreds of feet. Proximity readers provide automatic identification for cars, trucks, buses, fork lifts or other vehicles approaching a gate or controlled roadway. Upon reading the vehicles tag, the system will either activate the gate or overhead door mechanism, or deny access depending on the vehicle's access level.

ACCESS CARDS allows you the ultimate in control. You can ADD or DELETE cards from the system in a matter of seconds. You can program the cards, so as to limit access to different areas to specific individuals. You can program in times, and dates as to when you deny or allow access to an area.As mentioned earlier, all events ( date, time, and user I.D. ) are logged in the history file. As well if a deleted card is used, it will not operate the system but will log date, time and card no. into the history file.

PROGRAMMING The system can be re-configured by authorized individuals on site at any time. As an alternate, we at Dumont Enterprises Ltd. will do all your programming changes for you from our office, for a minimal charge, provided your system is registered with us. Simply fax us the changes, and they will implemented into your system, not later than noon the next normal working day.
